1.) Where are you located and where would our session take place?
I am located in Flower Mound, TX but drive all over the metroplex for session. You point me in the right direction for the look and feel that you are wanting (a grassy field, urban location, water, or something more architectural), and I will help you choose the best possible location for your session. I have many locations throughout DFW that I know the particulars of lighting, flexibility, etc. I always have fresh ideas in mind too. It may help to click through some of my previous sessions to see if there is a location you really love. Please note that locations farther than 20 miles from zip code 75022 do incur a $25 drive fee.
2.) When would our session take place?
Session times are almost exclusively during the last hour or two before the sun sets, as this is when the light is the prettiest. I often schedule sessions so that we end right as the sun dips into the horizon. Keep in mind that weather and overcast skies may require us to adjust this time so that we can maximize that incredible light. Regular sessions typically last about an hour.
3.) When will I receive my image gallery?
You will receive a link to your images within two – three weeks.
4.) What if my child
or husband acts up?
In my previous career I was an elementary school teacher. I am very comfortable around children and families, and trust me that I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to handle the squirmiest of kiddos (no matter their size!). I love catching genuine laughs, developmental milestones, and joyful family interaction – and they all can be accomplished without anyone saying “CHEESE” or forced to smile. Don’t worry!
5.) What type of images should I expect?
I typically take a mix of loosely posed and lifestyle images. I also like to get individual shots, siblings, whole family, mom with kiddos, dad with kiddos, etc. Please let me know in advance if you have any specific requests.
6.) What’s your cancellation policy?
I am happy to reschedule (at no charge) due to weather conditions such as rain or extreme temperatures.
7.) What’s in your camera bag?
I use the best camera equipment available. Naturally this would be Canon, ha!
My body is a Canon 5D Mark iii and my favorite lenses are the 24-105 L, 70-200 2.8 is, 35 1.4, 50 1.4, and 85 1.8. When I really want to feel creative I use the 100 2.8L macro lens, sweet50 Lens Baby, or my 15mm fisheye. In addition, I also bring a back up camera to all sessions. As a professional I am prepared for WHEN my equipment fails me (not if). I also have a 430ex ii speed light, expodisc, trips, several remote triggers, and assortment of cf cards and batteries. I edit on my 27″ mac, which is regularly calibrated with a SypderPro calibrator. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CC.
